DMA’s RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘TOO SOON’
+ ALBUM HILLS END OUT 26 FEB
With just over a month until their highly anticipated debut album Hills End is released into the world on 26 February, DMA’S are pleased to share a brand new single ‘Too Soon’, a second taste of the album and follow up to their catchy first single ‘Lay Down’.
‘Too Soon’ which world premiered this morning on triple j, was collectively written by all three members of DMA’S which is a not a process usually employed by the Newtown trio. The song itself carries all the charm and swagger of previously released singles and sees Thomas O’Dell’s vocals soar over the pop-rittled guitar work of Matt Mason and Johnny Took. Similarly to the rest of their debut full length, ’Too Soon’ was recorded between Took’s bedroom in Newtown and a small studio in Coogee, before being mixed by Spike Stent (Massive Attack, Madonna, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Depeche Mode) in LA.
“Usually one of us will have an idea for a song, and we’ll flesh it out together”, says Johnny Took “but for Too Soon we each had a separate melody, which fit together effortlessly.”

DMA’S spent the best part of 2015 touring throughout Australia and internationally; selling out shows and packing venues on headline shows as well as playing at some of the world’s most prestigious festivals including Lollapalooza, Groovin The Moo, Bonnaroo, Reading & Leeds, Outside Lands and Governor’s Ball to name a few.
But there is no stopping them there – they’ll be road testing their debut album on the St Jerome’s Laneway Festival circuit next month in Australia before heading the UK for a headline tour throughout March and then playing Coachella 2016 this April in Indio, California. And in even more exciting news from abroad, DMA’S debut single ‘Delete’ (which has just been released in the UK and USA and also features on Hills End) was last week added to full rotation on BBC Radio 1 in the UK, as well as being the stations ‘track of the day’ yesterday.
DMA’S debut album Hills End will be released on 26 February worldwide via I OH YOU in Australia, Infectious in the UK (alt-j, Drenge, The Temper Trap) and Mom+Pop in the USA (Wavves, Courtney Barnett, FIDLAR).
