With the end of September looming, it can mean only one thing… Oktoberfest and no one is doing it better this year than Munich Brauhaus South Wharf! Celebrating all week (22/9 – 28/9) the Brauhaus wants you to come along to experience a bit of German culture at its best.

On a recent trip we got to experience some of the amazing food and beer that they had to offer. Sampling a delectable array of pretzels, sausage, pork knuckle, schnitzel and so much more. Munich Brauhaus has crafted three amazing platters to cater to everyones needs. Teamed with a stein or two made for a great day out.

So if you find yourself with a bit of thirst this weekend, Munich Brauhaus South Wharf are kicking off one of Melbourne’s biggest and best Oktoberfest bash kicks off this Saturday, 22 September. With an official keg tap of the first Oktoberfest bier at midday launches a line-up of family-friendly entertainment, including a colourful street parade of costumed performers and oompah bands that will bring South Wharf to life.

At 2pm there is a sausage eating competition, at 4pm a Dogs of Oktoberfest contest, at 5pm stein holding championships and at 8pm the Best Dressed Oktoberfest winner will be announced. All day there will be prizes, special Oktoberfest menus and the first of five Oktoberfest biers imported from Bavaria, Hofbräu München, will be on tap. Get into the Oktoberfest spirit at the pop-up bier tent.

Guests who miss out on the Saturday antics can join in on a second round of keg taps and on stage challenges on Sunday, 23 September. The Oktoberfest celebrations continue at Munich Brauhaus and The Bavarian restaurants at Knox and Highpoint until Sunday, 28 October.

With plenty going on their is no shortage of fun to be had this weekend, so grabs some friends to celebrate the beginning of Octoberfest with a stein in one and pork knuckle in the other. This is one celebration not to be missed!
