Great Ocean Road Reopens

The Great Ocean Road has today fully reopened to visitor traffic after a section of the road was temporarily closed on 25 December 2015 for bushfire safety reasons.

While the fire is not under control, it is currently burning away from the coast in deep seated forest and the Great Ocean Road is open for tourists. Some speed restrictions are in place and visitors are advised to keep up to date with latest warning and advice when travelling in the area. Visitor information centres are on hand throughout the region to help with accommodation, travel and activity ideas. Useful contacts as follows:

Holiday makers can choose from a variety of activities along the Great Ocean Road, from learning to surf or taking a helicopter flight over the 12 Apostles to sampling local produce and soaking in the stunning views of this dramatic coastline. For more ideas on what to do along the Great Ocean Road visit www.visitvictoria.com/Regions/great-ocean-road
