Ever since my first visit 2 and a half years ago, I’d had Beer & Burger Bar on my revisit list! And recently I finally made it back with a few friends to indulge in a massive spread of burgers and sides!

Let’s get right to it, here’s what we had and what I thought about it;

THE BOB 5/5
Beef, Southern Fried Chicken, Double Bacon, Double American Cheese, Grilled Pinapple, Lettuce, Tomato, Jalapenos, Cola BBQ Sauce & Aioli

Beef and chicken both cooked perfectly juicy with good flavour with a crunchy coating around the chicken.

Absolutely loved the grilled pineapple, adding that sweet element alongside the cola BBQ sauce. Bacon was nice and crispy amongst a good amount of melting cheese. With a little kick from the jalapenos and the aioli giving that creamy element, this was a winning combination and a very well-balanced burger

SHORT RIB BURGER 5/5
Beef Patty, Cheese, Mustard, Tomato Sauce, Red Onion & Beef Short Rib

I had my doubts with the cheeseburger combo paired with short rib, thinking the flavour would interfere but I was proved wrong. The beef patty was nice and juicy, slightly pink inside with melted cheese and a balanced ratio of sauces. The short rib slotted in perfectly; cooked great, tender with delicious flavour making this one of my favourite burgers of the night

THE KPOP 5/5
Korean Fried Chicken, Spicy Kimchi, Coleslaw, Fresh Chilli, Coriander, Sesame Seeds & Mayo

This burger had some serious wow factor and refused to be forgotten long after finishing it! Being a massive Korean fried chicken fan, I loved this combination! All these elements were quite strong in flavour, but none were too overpowering. They worked beautifully together! Very fresh with the slaw and coriander flavour amongst a good balance of sweet, chilli and touch of creaminess from the mayo. Perfect!

SOUTHERN FRIED CHICKEN BURGER 4/5
Southern Fried Chicken, Bacon, Swiss Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Smashed Avo & Chipotle Aioli

This was the only burger not in contention for the winner of the night for me, just from missing that powerful flavoured element to really bring the burger together. The chicken was cooked well, nice light crispy coating. Good combination with the smooth smashed avo mixed amongst the swiss cheese and bacon. Chipotle aioli was super creamy with for me it needed a little more spice or kick which would’ve given it that wow factor! Other than that, a well-cooked burger with good elements but lacking that spark, which didn’t leave much of an impression on me.

MAC CHEESE SPRING ROLLS
Nice crispy spring roll pastry filled with a creamy mac cheese mix with a killer combination of bacon bits and jalapenos really turning it up!

CHEESEBURGER SPRING ROLLS
Pretty self-explanatory and damn good, dipped in their amazing burger sauce was the perfect touch!

BEEF BRISKET LOADED FRIES
Shredded beef brisket was tender and nice but not as flavoursome as I would’ve liked. Cheese sauce was delicious. Chips were good mix of thick and crunchy with soft ones down the bottom holding all the sauce. Good ratio of everything!

And if I wasn’t already impressed enough by these amazing dishes so far, the DEATH BY CHOCOLATE freak-shake blew my mind!

The shake itself had a thick consistency with good strong chocolate flavour. Nutella coveted the top half of the outside which was decorated meticulously with crushed chocolate ripple biscuits. And the piece de resistance was a MASSIVE piece of homemade chocolate ganache cake on top! I can’t express enough how indulgently delicious it was! So moist with soft delicate icing layered through and around. The quality of this cake is definitely something you wouldn’t expect from a burger place! A lot of venues offering freak-shakes should take a leaf out of Beer and Burger Bar’s book as most put little effort into the shake aspect with the pure focus of making them ‘Insta worthy” with cheap Coles packet waffles, donuts, chocolate bars etc. This shake had it all with drop dead gorgeous looks and amazing flavour!

I highly recommend Beer and Burger Bar for their amazing burgers, sides and great service. Really welcoming owner and staff taking great pride in providing high quality food and service!
