Tucked away in the heart of Parkdale amongst the busyness of Como Parade you’ll find yourself at the Burgerlab. A funky styled burger shop offering their unique take on the traditional burger with that something little extra.

Offering not just burgers, Burgerlab caters to your culinary taste buds with a range of kitchen favourites to satisfy everyone.

With a casual atmosphere you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door, pulling up a stool we looked over the menu to nifty little illustrations that gave you a nice little insight into what you’re about to eat! Seems straight forward but rather helpful and fun if you ask us.

Feeling hungry we dived right in, deciding on the Buttermilk Free Range Chicken Burger, the Firedog Burger, Southern Fried Chicken Wings, a side of Sweet Potato Fries, Grilled Corn with Slaw and Chipotle Mayo and you know we had to top it all off with a Snickers Shake and a Chocolate Malt extra thick!

And after no time at all, the food appeared, and boy was it a lot – to say they were big burgers would be an understatement they had some size on them. Jumping right in, the Buttermilk Chicken burger had a good crunch and nice flavour whereas the Firedog had a great spice from the Jalapenos which was a great little addition to this burger.

All the while munching on some sides we welcomed the change up of sweet potato fries opposed to regular and freshly grilled corn covered in melted cheese – both gave this burger experience a new twist on the traditional fries and onion rings. Which they have – of course – but why not try something different we say!

Shifting gears, we got into the buffalo wings – full wings not just drumettes or the wings – so again we got more than we bargained for, but we were not disappointed. For us, we could have used a little more spice to it, but that’s just us, we’re spicy people. These were well worth over eating for!

The Burgerlab is a great little neighborhood shop that is definitely worth a drive down or if you don’t have a car don’t worry Parkdale Station is just up the road. While disguised as a humble burger shop, they offer so much more which means you can go back again and again and keep trying something new.

But let us leave you with this thought, don’t be afraid to experiment when in the lab (sorry we couldn’t help ourselves) no matter what you get, you’ll surely love it.
