Who doesn’t love a good sandwich! Let us introduce you to the newest sandwich shop on the block, Robin’s Deli. We stumbled upon Robin’s driving through Cheltenham’s business district, nestled amongst factories, this little deli knows how to stand out.

Walking in, this place isn’t big, a small communal table to your left, some smaller tables and bench seating to your right. Kitchen in the back and beautiful deck area out front, perfect to soak up the warm summer sun but that’s it. And really, you don’t really need anything else.

With a simple menu of straight forward sandwiches on offer you can’t really go wrong here. Stopping ourselves from ordering the entire menu we held back and only ordered five.

Our Order…

Robin’s Brekky Muffin
Pork Sausage, Fried Egg, Chilli Jam, Robin’s Sauce, American Cheese

We took the liberty of adding Bacon and a Hash Brown.

Foodies Note: This brekky muffin was amazing, and you can’t go wrong with adding a hash brown!

Vegemite & 4 Cheese
Mozzarella, Gruyere, Cheddar & Parmigiano Reggiano on Sourdough

This is an amazing take on an Aussie classic, great melt on the cheese gives a great pull hit of vegemite is just right.

F*ucked Up Meatball
Pork & Beef Meatballs, Napoli Sauce, Honey Cumin Yoghurt, Chimichurri on Baguette

The meatballs are flavourful on their own, but that honey cumin yoghurt just sets it off!

Foodie Note: This was big meatball sandwich, for the brave use your hands but be prepared to get messy, or be like us, suck it up and use a knife and fork.

Confit Lamb Melts
American Cheese, Robin’s Sauce, Rocket, Pickled Fennel on Sourdough

If you love lamb, this is for you. You don’t see enough sandwiches with lamb. This one is worth the trip.

The Mortadella
Stracciatella, Sundried Tomato Pesto, Rocket, Fermented Hot Honey, Pistachios on Focaccia

This one has everything, taste, texture, crunch from the pistachios, and the way pesto and honey mix together with all the other elements makes this a winner all round.

On a side note, for all the delicious sandwiches we were able to get into one thing can be said, outside of delicious is that they each had the right bread choice for the respective sandwich. This little detail can sometimes be overlooked and use the same bread for every sandwich, we loved out the baguette soaked up the sauce from the meatballs but still held up to be eaten with your hands (if you want) to the focaccia for the mortadella, both just right.

And if you’re bringing your kiddies, not to worry, the team will whip something up just for them. If they have it they will put it together just for your little ones.

Overall, you can’t go wrong here, as we all know making a sandwich is great but having a sandwich made by someone else, just tastes better and these sandwiches taste DAMN GOOD! You won’t go wrong indulging a little here because sometimes you don’t need to be fancy, sometimes all you need is good ingredients to create great flavours and Robin’s Deli does just that!
