No matter where you are in the world, there is nothing more
satisfying then getting a clean shave. And today more than ever it is the age
of the barber, a barber is more than just a throwback to the days of old. It’s
a testament to the craft and a place that people can come together.
We recently had the pleasure to visit one such
establishment, Henry Lee Barbershop in the heart of Collingwood. A relaxed shop
that is open to the community and is not a men’s only establishments unlike
most barbershops that only cater to men’s grooming.
Walking into Henry Lee, the atmosphere is clear – simple
no-nonsense barbershop. Whether you’re in one of the three chairs to get a trim
or chin up to get a cutthroat shave or relaxing while waiting to be called. A
cold beer is on hand and a good chat is always at the ready.
Sitting down with Lee herself for a shave, it’s obvious she
is passionate about her craft and the shop she has built up as part of the
Collingwood community over the last few years. And after a few laughs we got
down to business.
Gazing upon the epic beard that I had been growing we talked
through what I wanted and what would suit me best, once agreed. All I had to do
was sit back relax and try not to snore!
From cold beer to the hot towels, having a barbershop shave
is an experience everyone should try at least once in their life (if you are so
inclined) and Henry Lee Barbershop is the perfect place. From the killer music
to the friendly barbers you can’t ask for much more when it comes to getting a
great hot shave.
So, if you find yourself wandering around Collingwood and are in need of a shave or just a tidy up, drop into Henry Lee Barbershop, we definitely will.
