On a cool winter’s evening, we found ourselves walking through South Wharf on our way to the ever-inviting Munich Brauhaus. With a warm atmosphere and an even friendlier staff, we were made to feel right at home and given the rundown on the specials and of course Happy Hour!
Looking around you feel as if you’ve been taken out of Melbourne and the cold and a transported into the heart of Germany with laughter, beer, food and friendly faces abundant.
With the world at our taste buds, Munich Brauhaus is offering for a limited time a bevy of Loaded Schnitzels from Hawaii to Canada. With five different Loaded Schnitzels to choose from, finding your favourite is up to you, we decided to try the American and Canadian. And while we waited we indulged in a bit of happy hour with $5 craft beer and $1 wings not a bad way to kill time while waiting on our food.
After a few laughs and couple of beers a Canadian and American joined our table – one loaded with fries, gravy, cheese and speck and the other with waffles bacon and maple syrup. One was met with eager anticipation and did not disappoint, the other we weren’t so sure about.
What we discovered was that the combination of waffles, bacon, syrup and chicken schnitzel is a surprisingly good combination! And a definite recommendation for someone looking to try something different.
But like all good things, the Loaded Schnitzels are only available until Saturday 30th of June – but don’t be alarmed. The Brauhaus still has its German staples for you to indulge in from mouth-watering crispy pork knuckle to classic German sausages, the only choice is where to start!
So, when you find yourself strolling down the boardwalk of South Wharf next, don’t be afraid to step into a bit of German hospitality from the team at Munich Brauhaus and all its tasty Bavarian treats!
